Product Line Manager

Job Description


As Product Line Manager, you will serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product and service offerings and be charged with full responsibility for sales and orders of U.S. Component Modification Services (CMS). This extends from increasing the profitability of existing products and services to developing new solutions based on your industry experience and contact with customers. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time with customers to understand their applications or problems and find innovative solutions for the broader market. You will work closely with the internal Engineering and Operations organizations and Micross' external Sales team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Direct strategic and tactical business aspects of CMS sales and marketing, matrix reporting to the business unit GM (Hatfield, PA) and the Corporate SVP of Strategic Solutions (Orlando, FL).

  • Lead the CMS Internal Sales Team (Inside Sales Manager and Inside Sales Reps).

  • Screen, prioritize, and develop new business opportunities; effectively interfacing with internal and external technical resources.

  • Leverage strong strategic and analytical skills to understand market dynamics together with relative production costs to devise an effective pricing strategy and institute the requisite pricing controls.

  • Prepare presentation materials and host customers as they visit the Hatfield facility for commercial negotiations and audit reviews.

  • Enhance direct communication from the field through to engineering and operations; ensure that customer priorities are understood and actioned.

  • Provide direction, resources, training, and tools for broader Micross sales team (Regional Sales Managers, Strategic Sales Managers, and Manufacturers Representatives) to fully represent CMS to its customers; ensuring CMS inside sales staff's required support. Travel as required to visit customers.

  • Team with Engineering to develop new solutions/services.

  • Devise and monitor monthly commercial metrics including: new customer identification; customer retention; quote turnaround time/accuracy; quote win/loss ratios; and actual vs. quoted delivery times.

  • Promote an agile sales and engineering support process with quick-turn quoting.

  • Work with Operations to understand production capacity to effectively and dynamically manage quoted lead times.

  • Work with Finance to understand and monitor cost of goods and services.

  • Streamline sales support processes and document work instructions.

  • Participate and enhance CMS' presence at trade shows; partnering with Corporate MARCOM to create marketing and promotional materials Analyze competitors and track relative capabilities and performance; leveraging CRM.

  • Survey and analyze customer feedback; champion insights and corrective actions to enhance competiveness and support the company's Quality Management System.

  • Participate in weekly PLM Call hosted by Corporate SVP of Strategic Solutions.

  • Prepare short term revenue and contribution forecasts to support financial reports.

  • Support the annual budgeting process.

Job Qualifications:

  • BS in Electronics/Mechanical Engineering, MBA highly desirable.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience ideally in a combination of sales, engineering and product management roles, including responsibility for pricing and sales strategies.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, process-intensive engineered services business or a dynamic sector of the electronics industry, strongly preferred.

  • Experience within the military/aerospace industry - servicing technically sophisticated multi-national customers will be highly valued.

  • Due to export control rules, must be a US citizen.

  • Prior experience working in a private equity-owned operating company a plus.

  • Superior computer competence with higher level Excel and PowerPoint skills. Experience with CRM and ERP will be very useful..

  • Ability to understand technical specifications and drawings.

  • Knowledge of MIL-Specs/Standards, ITAR, and export regulations.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
