Production Manager - Machining

Job Description

We seek a confident, motivated experienced Manufacturing Production Manager to join our friendly and professional business environment. As part of our managerial team you will lead and manage a full-scale manufacturing operation that produces medical components and assemblies that are used in surgeries. Key performance metrics include safety record, quality results, on-time delivery and the ability to meet cost standards. This excellent communicator must be organized, a master problem solver, and have the ability to make good decisions.


Requirements



  • 4-year degree in a major related to Engineering or Business


  • Previous supervisor or manager experience in similar role


  • Previous experience supervising production and/or production planning


  • Working knowledge of Microsoft software (excel, word, power point)


  • Must exhibit problem solving skills and ability to make sound decisions


  • Must show ability to communicate and work with employees, managers and directors


Preferred requirements



  • Experience utilizing SAP software


  • Lean/Six-Sigma Experience


  • Experience working in an ISO certified facility


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Oversee all production activities, including machine set-up, production runs and in-process quality monitoring. Lead meetings to develop and execute plans to ensure success.


Assure that attention to quality standards and specifications are met and maintained. Maintain compliance to ISO standards including all Procedures, Work Instructions and all related employee training requirements.


Train and develop leadership and technical staff to accomplish operating requirements within the Medical department.


Assure department employs safe work practices and adheres to safety guidelines. Enforce safety guidelines.


Manage capacity and develop plans to meet customer delivery dates through overtime, staffing and capital equipment recommendations.


Communicate department performance results to the Medical Team and B&G Staff:

Manage Employee Performance, Development and Morale:



  • Create employee development plans and cross-training opportunities


  • Administer positive recognition feedback and documented corrective actions



Ensure Performance appraisals are completed on time.


In Coordination with the Planning Team:



  • Develop and execute a production work order/PO release strategy. Ensure timely release and scheduling of all production and purchase orders.


  • Ensure outside suppliers are capable of meeting customer requirements



Monitors delivery of internal processes and outside vendors

Communicate effectively with other department managers, supervisors and employees to ensure timely resolution of problems and accomplishments of department and company objectives.

Physical Demands


Some light lifting may be required (under 30 pounds). Walking from office to production floor is required. Spending time out on the production floor (min 25%) is required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
