Human Resources Intern (NESP016-03-2018-1)

Brooks Instrument, an industry leader in flow measurement and flow control products for critical applications, and a division of ITW (A Fortune 200 Company), is seeking a Human Resources Intern to support our Human Resources team. This position will be based out of our headquarters facility in Hatfield, PA (Suburban Philadelphia), In addition to our Pennsylvania manufacturing facilities, Brooks maintains manufacturing locations in, Hungary, Korea and Japan. The Company also maintains sales and service offices throughout the world to support our products which are used in laboratory and process applications in end markets such as: life sciences, chemicals, semiconductor, analytical instruments, nuclear, and solar cells.
The basic purpose of this role is to provide functional support in the areas of recruitment and employment, maintaining personnel records, supporting employee relations initiatives, facilitating job evaluations, performance management, benefits administration, organization development, training, AAP/EEO, and special projects. Additional duties may include assisting in the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures and their dissemination through employee booklets, communications, and/or meetings.
Specific duties may include:
Understand the principles of the medical, dental, 401k, life insurance, and other benefit programs and participate in administering the benefit program to employees.
Process employment requisitions, work with recruiters, interview applicants, and assist in hiring decisions. Upon hire, compile and maintain personnel records for use in compensation and benefit actions. Assist in the maintenance of AAP logs.
Assist with the administration of the performance management system.
Maintain positive employee relations by assisting employees with everyday questions and organizing and participating in other activities such as employee communications training programs, wellness programs, and employee relations social activities.
Assist with special projects (Performance Reviews, AAP, Benefits, Record retention, etc.)
Prepare correspondence, charts, graphs, proposals, reports, summaries, and similar documents when needed.
Support HR leadership on special projects (Wage and Salary Proposals, AAP, Benefits Open Enrollment, etc.)
Support employee development and communications via special projects (such as facilitating training programs, participating in and supporting companywide communications).
Education & Experience
Working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field of study
A Human resources certification is desirable
Two years of Human resources educational training is desired
Previous Human Resources internship / co-op experience is preferred
Proficiency in MS Office is required
Working knowledge of HRMS systems is a plus

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
