Door Services Corporation is a business unit of Horton Automatics, an Overhead Door Corporation company. Door Services offers installation and maintenance of the doors manufactured by Horton Automatics (commercial sliders, optical turnstyles, revolving doors, swinging / folding doors, etc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Installation of automatic sliding, folding, and swinging doors, operators and associated equipment.
  • Responsible for surveying and preparing worksite location for installation, this can include measurements, alterations and construction modifications.
  • Perform related construction related work such as framing and build in s.
  • Proactively support our safety program and initiatives, comply with all safety policies and procedures and ensure utilization of safe work practices on site, in the warehouse and office.
  • Evaluate and ensure prior to commencement of work, that the appropriate tools and equipment are working and/or available.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of safety systems and ANSI standards.
  • Maintain competence and understanding of mechanical and electrical set-up and troubleshooting.
  • Responsible for documenting the work to be performed and reviewing with the customer.
  • Responsible for overseeing the care and maintenance of equipment, tools and vehicles provided by Door Services Corporation.
  • Maintain that the appropriate parts inventory is in the company vehicles and ensure that items are available for work.
  • Represent Door Services with customers and present them in a professional demeanor.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • At least 3 years experience in glass and aluminum store front required.
  • Light electrical background required.
  • Ability to read blueprints required.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in the Automatic Door Industry is required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to interpret and apply the ANSI standards for the Automatic Door industry.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate basic math including fractions and read a tape measure.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid driver s license and AAADM Certification.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in many different environments including hospitals, pharmaceuticals facilities, business offices and retail locations and is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
