Director of Hog Procurement

We have an exciting opportunity for a Producer Relationship Manager. This role will be responsible for creating and managing the hog procurement strategy, building relationships with our producers and balancing supply and demand for the operation. The role has a large impact to the organization as it is responsible for procurement of 5 million hogs, growing to 7.5 million in the near future, and is the company's largest single input cost.
ResponsibilitiesHog Supply Supply balancing / optimization Make weekly calls to find open hogs aligned with harvest plan if needed (infrequent) Execute pricing bids for weekly open hogs Communicate and enter pricing for execution of hog payment Oversee and work with hog scheduler to plan loads Gain market intelligence of hog pricing Communicate upcoming harvest plans to Suppliers (holidays, Saturdays) Maintain communication with Hog Scheduling to manage irregularities Lead communication and process to adjust harvest plans to support plant needs Oversee daily & weekly hog harvest target fulfillment Execute, review, and distribute weekly/monthly hog supply report
Plan the system CFG hog supply volume strategy annually
Strategic Growth & Relationships Management Responsible for producer connectivity with Clemens Food Group Conduct business reviews with all suppliers (growth plans and compliance) Coordinate and Execute Producer Meetings (in-person) Develop, maintain and execute long term hog supply growth plans Facilitate long term supply needs discussions for CFG and develop recommendations Maintain connectivity with industry experts to stay informed of issues facing producers Maintain active pipeline of potential produers who may add value to producer network Lead in development and execution of hog procurement strategy
Attend local fairs/events and support producers
Pricing strategy and execution Develop, maintain pricing programs that provide value to producer and CFG Negotiate renewals with all producers Quarterly benchmarking of pricing programs to assess CFG competitiveness Audits of all new pricing Spot audits of ongoing pricing
Design structure for weight and grade programs
Hog Procurement Compliance Oversee issue resolution of any elevated compliance situations between CFG and Suppliers Assist in communication of any new Hog Supplier guidelines Intervene and resolve on any Supplier volume fulfillment discrepancies Develop statistical modeling of Supplier Quality trends Develop processes and guidelines to better establish Supplier standards
communicate all CFG guidelines to Suppliers
Team CFG Participate in Level 10 Meetings Participate in Industry Conferences and Trade Association meetings to network
Qualifications
Degree from a four year college or university strongly preferred
3-5 Years of relevant industry experience strongly preferred

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
