WHSE Operator II - Dry Goods

Responsibilities:

SUMMARY

The WHSE Operator II on the Dry Goods Team is responsible for working proficiently in all areas where the Dry Goods team assists in the overall successful operation of the Warehouse.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must be able to effectively and efficiently deliver pallets of product to different departments throughout the company.
  • Exhibit a team-player mentality while using elevators and delivering product to various departments.
  • Assist with unloading trailers of product that have been delivered to the Dry Goods warehouse.
  • Assist the Box Team by delivering boxes to various departments.
  • Must be able to properly use an RF scanning gun to pick orders and stage them for delivery.
  • Perform cycle counts on product within the Dry Goods Warehouse.
  • Ensure packing lists are signed off by the receiving department
  • Assist with quality procedures by fixing damaged pallets and/or individual cases.
  • Ensures quality of pallets and product are acceptable to receive as well as to ship.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of assigned area as well as organization of area at the end of the operators shift.
  • Must be able to perform daily preventative checks on warehouse equipment and report any deficiencies to the team lead or supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred and a minimum of three months warehouse experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Lowboy certification - required

Double Lowboy certification - required

537 Forklift certification - preferred

Counter Balance Lift Truck certification - preferred

Fall Protection Class - preferred

Stack truck certification - preferred

In order to work in the warehouse, a Health and Physical Exam must be successfully completed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and extreme cold (0-35 degrees). The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
